No body cares

As in that old Checkov story,
We like the hammer man to

Stand at a happy door to tap,
Tap to remind a man within

Of the worse times to strike,
Of calamities to befall later.

His happiness goes unabated
And no body is at door to tap.

There looks like no hammer
To tap away his happy door.

It is a pity that no body cares
To remind unfortunate man.

(referring to a discussion in Checkov’s short story Gooseberries)
