In Mumbai suburban train station

Station is image low hanging
On crowd at ten of Mumbai,

Hanging like time, like petal
On Pound’s black wet bough.

Images hang like metropolis
On  crowd hanging by train.

Crowd face is images placed
On other, so there is no face.

Apparition is image that falls
On faces, in the running train

Apparition is moment’s face,
Crowd sitting on foot board.

Crowd is faces whizzing past
My face, in other train’s blur.

It is blur from a moving train.
It has no face, just the image.

(After reading Ezra pound’s short poem “In A Station of the Metro”)
