Lay men

Red and blue containers are
Set to sail in fragrant harbor.

The harbor turns out fragrant
To men who own containers.

Lay men live in coffin homes
To get a feel of future homes.

Lay men are like the contents
In containers on a ship’s deck

The men have tiny table fans
To send a rat smell scurrying.

They train to be in the coffins
As merchandise in containers.

Containers are packed ready.
There is fragrant wind to sail.

(In wealthy Hong Kong, there’s a dark side to a housing boom, with hundreds of thousands of people forced to live in partitioned shoe-box apartments, “coffin homes” and other inadequate housing :Tomclarkblog)
