Hanging fire

All we see is that the fires hang
By highway tree for  rain cloud

But a rain shall go up and down
On the cottons from cloud-puff.

Hunger fires go on seamlessly
Till our water is blue as ashes.

(remembering Gerald Manly Hopkins poem That Nature is a Heracletean fire…)
