Beauty passes

Her beauty turns immortal
After the old men’s passes

Elders are dead by flesh
Watching flesh, in water,

The basses in her below.
Like evenings that flow,

Beauty is dead by a sun
But flows through living.

(Reading Wallace Stevens’ poem Peter Quince at the Clavier)
